Description: The study of Teacher Librarian Services credential begins at fifth-year level from a Commission-approved Teacher Librarian Services Credential program. Eligibility for initial certification in Teacher Librarian Services (library-media) shall include at least baccalaureate-level professional educator's certification in a teaching field.
Evaluation Process for Licensure:
Criteria for eligibility include completion of one of the following requirements:
- A Commission-approved Library Media Teacher Services program and the recommendation of the California college or university where the program was completed.
- An out-of-state Teacher Librarian Services program consisting of at least 30 graduate semester units approved by the appropriate state agency where the program was completed.
- Passing score on the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) (http://www.cbest.nesinc.com.).
